Kohima, August 9: The Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) has requested the Director General of Police (DGP) Nagaland to call off the proposed training of security personnel at 4th NAP Thizama and 10th NAP (IR) Battalion.
NAYO president, Roko Angami and general secretary, Ruokuoneitso Kire, in a representation to the DGP Nagaland yesterday said the proposed training of security personnel at both the centres lies under the jurisdiction of NAYO in Kohima district.
They reminded that the DGP had earlier called for similar programme to be conducted at Chumukedima in Dimapur, Alichen in Mokokchung and Tuensang only to be spurted by the public of the respective regions because of the existing ‘fiery pandemic’ (COVID-19).
Expressing that the recently proposed training centres, Zhadima and Thizama are located in the heart of the village dwellings, NAYO officials said at this difficult time where the pandemic strikes is at its zenith, it is unsafe for its populace to have the intended attendees coming from different part of the State.
The NAYO avowed that it cannot allow anything come whatsoever, including this proposed training to jeopardize the safety of its citizens in the slightest as it is morally and legally bound by its constitution.
NAYO, therefore, fervently requested the DGP Nagaland to call off the proposed training till the situation is favourable.
