
Dimapur, May 24: Another native of Nagaland passed away during this lockdown in Ahmedabad today.
According to Naga Students’ Union Gujarat, Watisungba Longkuer, aged 45 years passed away this morning at Asarva Shahibag Civil Hospital, New Trauma Ward, Ahmedabad due to Hepatic Cirrhosis.
The NSU Gujarat has thanked Alen and Imnaienla Aier, who were his friend and were with him in every second of his life when he needed them the most.
The NSU informed that all necessary arrangements starting from ambulance to coffin and graveyard were all arranged by Wapang Jamir IPS who has been very instrumental ever since the lockdown started.
It expressed gratitude to Dr Roland Lotha for managing the expenses of ambulance and coffin. Some of the donations from NSU Gujarat, Atila Lemtur, Khrienou (Chairperson for Nagaland State Commissioner for Women) were all handed to Alen (Late Watisungba’s friend) to be used for the expenditure if any.
According to Neuto Justin Kinny, Information & Publication Secretary NSU Gujarat, the funeral took place at Vishranti Christian Cemetery, Ahmedabad and it was led by Rev Dr Yakub Mekwan (Methodist Church). Families and friends were given the time to share their last words after which we sealed the grave with the same soil that we dug out.
The Union appreciated everyone who were constantly praying for him and were spiritually, physically and mentally engaged for him during this grave situation. (Page News Service)
