NASU organizes literary, cultural competition

Kohima, November 24: The Northern Angami Students’ Union (NASU) has successfully organized a literary- cum- cultural competition here today at Ura Academy Hall.
This event was held in commemoration of the forthcoming NASU 45th Biennial General Conference 2019, scheduled at Kijiimetouma.
Gracing the occasion as special guest, R. Daniel Angami, EAC (Revenue), Deputy Commissioner Office Kohima challenged the students to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Nagas.
He also urged upon the students to inculcate work culture to succeed in their life.
In debate competition held on the topic “Naga youths have sufficient resources for employment,” Neizokhrienuo Metha stood first position while Avikhrie-ii Kaco bagged second position.
In extempore speech, Khrietonyii Whuorie and Akobu Loucii stood first and second position respectively.
In Tati Pfhe, Kohima Village Students’ Union stood first position while Chiechama Students’ Union stood runner-up.
Kohima Village Students’ Union emerged the champion of folk song competition.
In War-Cry event, Zekuosa Zhale stood first position while Kevizekuo Kevin Phewhuo bagged second position.
The event was sponsored by Charlie Sekhose, class-1 Govt. registered contractor.
Panel of judges for today’s event included Razouvikhol Luho, Velütalu, Lhouliebei-o Khezhie, Rüülhoutuonuo Theünuo and Visetuo Chüpuo.
Nuneseno Chase was the chief critic of literary competition.
The special session was chaired by Thejanguzo Keyho while Kevilelhou Zumu delivered welcome address. Vote of thanks was proposed by Neilhouvolie Chatsu.
