NASA-C 28th sports meet underway at Tsiesema

Tsiesema, January 22: The three day long 28th Sports Meet of Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA) Group C hosted by Tsiesema Village Sports Association commenced today at Tsiesema village ground, Kohima district.
Altogether nine out of the 12 villages under NASA-C – Tsiesema, Chüziema, Meriema, Tsiese Basa, Zhadima, Nerhema, Nerhe Model, Viphoma and Phekerkriema) are vying for coveted champion titles in football for men and volleyball for men & women in the three day meet which will conclude on Thursday.
Gracing the inaugural function, PS to Chief Minister Neiketouzo Kengurüse called upon the talented youth to vigorously engage in the field of games and sports while also urging them to choose the right discipline based on their physical fitness and interest so as to make their presence well at the regional, national and international arena.
Urging the youth to take sports as a profession, he maintained that sincerity and commitment is required to excel in the field of games and sports.
Informing that the state government under the chief ministership of Neiphiu Rio is all out to promote sports in the state, he called upon the youth to come forward and take advantage of the various platforms and packages being extended by the government.
He also made a fervent appeal to the stakeholders to reach out to the budding sportspersons, adding that their sponsorship in whatever way would boost the career and outlook of the sportspersons.
Kengurüse also look forward the active participation of NASA-C team at the forthcoming NASA meet scheduled for January 31 to February 2 at Chiephobozou.
NASA- C vice president So-u Yhor chaired the inaugural function while welcome address was delivered by TVYSO president Zhavilhou Yhor. NASA-C president Keneilhoulie Theünuo delivered presidential address and NASA- C games secretary Zakietuolie Khrodi administered oath to the participating teams.
