Phek, February 18: NPF MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu today said with things happening around it can be sensed that Nagas are heading for dooms day. ‘This is the sad reality’, he said.
Addressing the inaugural session of the 27th edition of Chakhesang Wrestling Association at Phek Town, Nienu said that Nagas have fallen short of the glory of God starting with the leaders, while also remarking that “the leaders (ourselves) have been encouraging nepotism, favouritism, promoting tribalism.”
Further he went on to assert that the present ordeal of the day is further disintegrating the already fragmented Naga society.
Referring to the recently concluded budget session, Nienu said, “We truly have some very incompetent leaders who are not even capable of answering questions during the Assembly Sessions not to talk about running a department or two.”
He also stated that ‘some of them are trying their level best to rope in the saffron party’s ideologies just to please their political gurus and be in the chair’.
“They have been given the posts of Ministers just by the pressure from the center knowing full well their in capabilities and ineffectiveness in running the affairs of the Government,” he said.
Expressing the severity of the things happening he repeated cautioned that Nagas are heading for dooms day and said, “It will be a miracle if their mindset changes to rationality and humility.”
While encouraging the wrestlers, Nienu said, ‘since Nagas really love wrestling, the wrestlers should also lead an exemplary life and inspire the youngsters’.
Nienu also encouraged the Naga wrestlers to venture out in the areas of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Arm Wrestling and others.
