Dimapur, October 22: The Janata Dal (United) Nagaland has appealed to the Government of India and all the Naga Political Groups to avoid confrontational and accusatory statements in public domain but take time to give each other enough opportunities to overcome the difficulties that are obstructing the road to an honourable Indo-Naga political solution.
In a press release, the State JD(U) said Nagas living in different administrative units have longed desired for peaceful solution based on the principle of the uniqueness of the Naga history. It said honourable and acceptable solution can be only achieved in an atmosphere which is not vitiated by coerciveness and mistrusts.
In this order, all the negotiating parties must be sincere and committed to the synopsis which has been agreed upon as a prelude to full peace negotiations, it said.
The party said there should be no room for threats and intimidation based on might and advantages which will only result in an unwelcomed decision. “Moreover, all parties must also keep in mind that the mandate of the people should be the primary concern while safeguarding each others ideologies and positions,” it added.
