Nagaland’s first PMKVY training centre inaugurated in Dimapur


Dimapur, June 5: The first Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) training centre in Nagaland was inaugurated today here at Half Nagarjan Main Road, Dimapur by Kazheto Kinimi, advisor to the chief minister for L&E, skill development & CAWD who was present there as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Kinimi said with less scope for employment opportunity in Nagaland and with no big factories, companies or industries to give employment to the youths, the PDA government under Chief Minister, Neiphieu Rio is committed to impart and empower the youths with the skills training and help in self employment and other employment opportunities.
He further committed to uphold the promise and the vision of the PDA government towards the upliftment and overall progress of the society especially towards the youths in a time when 70,000 youths are registered as unemployed besides many more unregistered unemployed youths.
Talking about the training centre, he said that he is very hopeful that the training centre will go a long way in imparting and empowering the youths with the trainings and skills.
Guest of honour, Anenla T. Sato, Commissioner & Secretary, Government of Nagaland in her speech said that a nation cannot be at peace without prosperity and if such facilities were there decades ago, Nagaland would be a peaceful place today.
She said that the government had tried previously two times to bring such training centers in Nagaland but due to rigid guidelines, it wasn’t possible and now with Emporium setting up this training institute, the dream of having such a facility has been fulfilled.
Previously, giving a brief introduction about Emporium Training & Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., ?sales operations manager Anirban Mukherjee had said that the training would be free of cost and the course will take 85 days to get completed. He added that even before the centre was ready, Emporium had in the last three months ran three recruitment drives in Nagaland and 70 people were placed through them.
He said that a total of 880 students will be trained in four quarters each year comprising of 220 students in each batch and they will be provided employment in different companies under aviation and hospitality sectors.
He also revealed that the company has plans to expand its centres in other districts of the state. (Page News Service)
