Nagaland’s Covid caseload rises to 5214


Dimapur, September 14: Nagaland Covid-19 caseload increased to 5214 with 131 new cases detected today.
In a tweet, Minister for Health & Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom said, “131 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 459 samples received 70 in Kohima, 60 in Dimapur and 1 in Mon.”
Among the 131 people who tested positive for the infection on Monday, 77 were Army personnel.
The minister also said 14 patients were cured of the disease on Monday – 9 in Kiphire, 4 in Dimapur and 1 in Mon.
Out of the 5,214 positive cases, the total recoveries so far are 3,897. The active cases are 1,289 and there have been 10 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,279 active cases are asymptomatic, 8 active cases are mild and 2 active cases are moderate.
Further, out of the 5,214 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are: 2,463 cases of Armed Forces/ Police, 1,411 cases of Returnees, 319 cases of Frontline Workers and 1,021 cases of Traced Contacts.
A total of 44,649 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 44,193 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 25,339samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 25,310 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 1,119 samples have been tested.
A total of 647persons are presently under Facility Quarantine. (Page News Service)
