Nagaland4Kerala concert today in Kohima


Kohima, August 23: In a gesture to extend solidarity and love of humanity, the Rattle & Hum Music Society of Nagaland is organizing a Nagaland4Kerala concert to raise fund for the flood hit state.
Briefing media persons here today, Rattle & Hum Music Society, president, Theja Meru along with his Secretary Administration Dr Tolto Metha and Finance Secretary Neingulie Nakhro said considering the impact of Kerala being hit with the worst flood of the century, the society spontaneously decided to hold the Nagaland4Kerala concert.
The concert to be held tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. at The Heritage, near Raj Bhavan here would be free but people can make free will donations in cash, cheque and kind, he informed while stating that the funds generated through the concert will be entirely extended towards flood ravaged Kerala in the name of the people of Nagaland.
He said that along with Rattle & Hum, the event partners Decibel, Life Pro Sound Solution, Synergy Group Enterprise and Bright Bakery have come together freely towards organizing the concert.
He also informed that the performers for the concert will feature the popular folk fusionist Tetseo Sisters and Colored Keys, rock band – Lord of Rock, soloist Muno Shiu and the Rattle & Hum Band.
Finance Secretary, Nakhro said that besides the free will donation at the venue, well-wishers can extend contributions through bank and online through account number – 1147102000001748 IDBI Bank Ltd. Kohima Branch till August 30.
Meanwhile, responding to a query, Nakhro accepted that Rattle & Hum Music Society failed to organize any such charity event to help own distressed people when Nagaland was hit by the biggest disaster during mid July and early August due to torrential rain.
Conveying apologies for the ‘missed opportunity’, Nakhro said “we have learnt our lesson and we will surely try to return with other activities for our own people after the Nagaland4Kerala concert”.
Nagaland faced one of the disastrous natural calamity which claimed at least 10 lives, thousands were displaced, while Kiphire district was totally cut off from all sides, and the entire state also suffered damage of road and cultivations.
On the other hand, Secretary Administration Dr Tolto said even as our people are faced with disaster, Nagaland is organizing the concert with a big heart to express our concern, prayers and love for the affected people of Kerala.
Music is the best platform to connect people in every situation and it will be medium for the people of Nagaland to extend support to fellow citizens of the country in Kerala, he said while appealing all to respond positively. (Page News Service)
