Nagaland to join launch of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav

DIMAPUR, MARCH 10: The commemoration of 75 years of India’s Freedom-Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav- will be launched from Gujarat on March 12 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The event will unfold in all the States and Union Territories and will showcase India’s achievements in 75 years and portray stories of the ‘lesser-known’ freedom fighters.
Along with the rest of the country, Nagaland will also be holding programmes and events to launch the celebration in a befitting manner. There will be a march in Kohima, by over 150 volunteers drawn from NSS and NYK, from High School junction to Nagaland Civil Secretariat in the morning of March 12.
The volunteers will be sporting caps, t-shirts and carrying banners with messages on ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ written on it. The march will culminate at the Civil Secretariat Plaza where the volunteers will be joined by schoolchildren.
At the Civil Secretariat Plaza, there will be a function from 11 am which will have cultural programmes and song-and-dance displays on patriotic themes. The function will be graced by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as special guest. A photo exhibition on the theme ‘Celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence’ will also be organized by the Bureau of Outreach & Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
In addition, all schools in Nagaland will be organizing a one-hour conference/seminar/symposium/talk/webinar/presentation by students on the topic ‘Events leading to India’s independence from British rule and Role of various freedom fighters in it’ including essay competition/creative writing competition on the topic ‘Analysis of India’s struggle for independence – different schools of freedom movement from 1857 to 1947’.

The Office of Deputy Commissioner Kohima has informed all Heads of Departments (HoDs), to collect the Invitation Card for the celebration of India’s 75 Years of Independence ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to be held on 12th March 2021 at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima from the Establishment Branch, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima on 11th March 2021 during Office hours.
