Nagaland schools to reopen for classes 6 & above from Feb 8

Dimapur, January 27: The State Directorate of School Education on Wednesday permitted all schools functioning within the State of Nagaland to resume conduct of regular classes for students of classes 6 & above from February 8 next by strictly following the SOP/guidelines.

The Academic Calendar 2021 was also released today by the Department for strict compliance by all.
As per the Academic Calendar 2021 released today signed by Principal Director of Education, Shanavas C, IAS, commencement of regular classes for classes VI to X will be from February 8.
The 1st term examination for classes I to VIII and mid-term examination for classes IX & X will be conducted in June. Summer vacation for hilly region will be from June 21 to July 3, while for hot region it will be from July 19 to 31.
The 2nd term examination for classes I to VIII and mid-term examination for class XII will be held in September. The final examination for classes I to IV and VI to VII will be conducted in December.
The academic calendar notified that the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month shall be utilized for class tests/ co-curricular activities/life skills/social works, etc. All general holidays notified by the Government of Nagaland should compulsorily be observed as State/National holidays along with 3 local restricted holidays, it said.
Events of national importance notified by Government of India shall also be observed by all schools within the State of Nagaland. (Page News Service)
