
Dimapur, April 19: Rapid Diagnostics test kits for COVID-19 arrived Dimapur from New Delhi through ICMR on Sunday. The tasking was carried out and airlifted by special Dronier-228 light utility multipurpose aircraft of the IAF.
The critical rapid test kits were received by the nodal officer Dimapur, Deputy Director of Heath and Family welfare, Dr Tiasunup Pongener, which was handed over by IAF officials.
Dr Tiasunup stated that with the availability of the kits now, Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department will soon start screening of suspects in the hot spots, which would be a tremendous boost to enhance the capabilities to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, especially for the front line workers. He said he was satisfied with the preparedness of COVID-19 facilities in the District, inspite of the sudden nature of the pandemic that has surprised the entire health care system globally.
He re-assured that improvement of COVID-19 facility will be an ongoing continuous process and all dedicated efforts are being made in this regard by the Directorate and respective line departments of the State Government.
A tweet from Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio /CMO stated that the much awaited rapid kits issued by the Government of India for the State of Nagaland through is a positive development and will help the front line teams fighting the pandemic. (Page News Service)
