Nagaland Police bows out of ATPA Shield tournament

Jorhat, April 8: Nagaland Police football team suffered a defeat against Assam State Electrical Board(ASEB) 2-1 in the semifinal match of the 57th Assam Tea Planters Association (ATPA) Shield Football Tournament at Jorhat District Sports Association(JDSA) playground on Friday evening.
The prestigious tournament is being organized by Jorhat District Sports Organization as a part of its centenary celebration.
Nagaland team went down fighting against one of the best team from Assam despite their best effort.
ASEB team defeated Nagaland Police by 2-1 in the semifinal match. Despite leading the match by a goal through Rhitsho Mero, ASEB team got back into the game through a controversial penalty and found the equaliser. In dying minutes, ASEB team struck another goal in the dying minutes to send Nagaland Police back home.
Nagaland Police team is led by coach Lhoulavolie, Asst coach – Hainsiugongbe and R.
