
Dimapur, September 25: Officials from the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland, led by Director Kethosituo Sekhose and Joint Resident Commissioner Wennyei Konyak today interacted with the men’s and women’s teams of Sepaktakraw India, who are currently in camp at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi as part of the Indian Asian Games contingent.
During the event, Nagaland officials felicitated key figures in the Sepaktakraw community. The honourees included Yogender Singh Dahiya, Deputy President of the Asian Sepaktakraw Federation, Chief Coach Hemraj Dhira, A B Sharma, Men’s team coach, Mamta, women’s team coach, as well as physiotherapists and sepaktakraw players representing India.
Letter of felicitation from MLA and Advisor to Youth Resources & Sports, S. Keoshu Yimkhiung, was presented on behalf of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the people of Nagaland to the Indian Sepaktakraw Team.
Women’s Sepaktakraw team representing India at the Asian Games includes two athletes from Nagaland, Sezovelu Dozo and Seyiekhrieno Tepa. Dozo holds the distinction of being the youngest player in the Indian Sepaktakraw contingent. (Page News Service)
