Dimapur, January 3: Nagaland is experience severe cold wave for more than a week now and the extreme cold weather condition is likely to continue for another week or so.
In a weather alert issued today, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) said the present extreme cold weather across the State is due to a cyclonic circulation over South Assam.
The State may see rains and thundershowers for a week or so. The sky will remain partly cloudy while the daytime temperature may rise. The minimum temperature during the night may fall to 2°C and 3°C, informed NSDMA.
During this period of extreme cold, the NSDMA cautioned picnickers not to stray over frozen lakes and icy surfaces to prevent untoward accidents.
