Certificate ceremony for RPL held

Dimapur, October 19: Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (NBOCWWB), Department of Labour with implementing agency Muru Infra Developers held its Certificate Ceremony for Recognition Of Prior Learning (RPL) with special guest, Imnatiba Jamir, Advisor, Industries and Commerce, Labour and Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in Hotel Saramati Hall on October 19.


Special Guest Imnatiba Jamir said that Nagaland has man and resources to generate revenue to develop into an economic state but many people are more devoted towards government service. He said, “With good training and skill development, we can contribute to the market and develop our economy,” and added that such works need more recognition.
He emphasized on putting more focus on buildings, constructions and welfare for workers.
He said that RPL being the first in Nagaland is a good initiative as it also provides genuine benefits to the workers. He appealed to the people to work together earnestly and encourage the youngsters to develop themselves.
Vikali A Zhimomi, Director of Muru Infra Developers in her introductory speech said that they had tremendous success in recognizing the skilled workers in and around Dimapur and helping them to avail benefits and services rendered by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and also Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (NBOCWWB). They are the only firm in Nagaland which has been recognized by NSDC and Construction Skill Development Council of India (CSDCI) to undertake the project of RPL, she said.
She also requested the Labour Department to assist the labourers in registering in the e-Shram portal and also to make them aware about it.


A Chubayanger, Project officer of DoLN said that their aim is to register 1500 workers to be assisted in Nagaland. RPL is implemented to make sure that the workers receive insurance in terms of accidents in work, deaths, maternity benefits and for families with children and also get access to Ayushman Bharat card in their line of work. He also mentioned that the workers are to be registered in the welfare scheme.
