Dimapur, May 19: To work out strategies and action plan for strengthening of the State Economy vis-a-vis Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, Governor of Nagaland has constituted the Core Group for Economic Affairs with ACS & Development Commissioner as Convenor, ACS & Finance Commissioner, Principal Secretary Power/IT, Commissioner/Secretary, Industries & Commerce; Commissioner/Secretary Rural Development; Commissioner/Secretary Veterinary & Animal Husbandry; Commissioner/Secretary Labour & Employment; Commissioner/Secretary Horticulture; Commissioner/Secretary Fisheries; Commissioner/Secretary, Land Resources; Commissioner/Secretary, Water Resources; Richard Belho, Zynorique Initiatives; Hekani Jakhalu, Youthnet; Dr Rev Chingmak, Eleuthorous Christian Society, Tuensang; Neichute Duolo, Entrepreneur Associates; Prof Akali Sema, SASARD, Medziphema as Members and Agricultural Production Commissioner as Member Secretary.
Subject experts from ICAR Nagaland University and other stakeholders would be co-opted by the Core Group as and when necessary.
The Core Group would study various aspects of state’s economy, it strengths, weaknesses, potentials and suggest measures for strengthening the economy through systematic interventions/action plans both short term and long term.
The Core Group would study the feasibility of an Economic Stimulus Package from Government of India for revival of the State’s economy and formulate plans/details for submission to GoI.
It would submit findings/suggestions to the Strategic Committee on Economic Affairs within one month.
