Nagaland Dy CM and 3 legislators undergo COVID-19 test in Delhi

Kohima, July 14: Four legislators from Nagaland, including Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton have undergone COVID-19 sample testing in Delhi after a driver of Nagaland House in Aurangzeb Road, Delhi tested positive.
Official sources in Nagaland House confirmed that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy CM Y Patton along with Minister for Health & Family Welfare S Pangnyu Phom, Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Women & Child Development, Kashiho Sangtam and Advisor for Law & Justice, Border Affairs and Treasuries & Accounts, Dr Longrineken are camping in Delhi since July 12 last.
Though the purpose of their visit amidst the COVID-19 pandemic could not be officially confirmed, rumours are doing round that they have been summoned by the Prime Minister to discuss on the June 16 Governor’s letter on the fragile law and order situation and also the appointment of 6 non-IAS officers as Deputy Commissioners in the State.
Official sources said that the driver, who tested positive for COVID-19, had picked Minister Kashiho Sangtam and Advisor Longrineken from the airport on their arrival.
Following reports of the driver and some other staff of Nagaland House testing positive, all of them, as per protocol and also taking precautionary measures, have undergone COVID-19 test and their results are expected by July 15.
Inclusion of Chief Minister Rio in the test could not be confirmed during the time of filing this report.
Asked as to when they are scheduled to return to Nagaland, sources said the exact date is not known but they are like to stay back for the week. (Page News Service)
