Nagaland Covid-19 positive cases cross 11K mark

Kohima, November 26: Nagaland on Thursday crossed the 11,000 mark of confirmed cases of COVID-19 amidst detection of 69 fresh infections, said State Health officials.

Even as 131 COVID-19 patients’ recuperated, detection of 69 fresh cases has pushed the caseload in the state to 11,060, he said.
“69 +ve cases of # COVID-19 detected today. Kohima- 27, Dimapur- 17, Mon- 14, Tuensang- 8, Peren- 3. Also, 131 +ve patients have recovered. Dimapur- 83, Kohima- 18, Tuensang- 14, Mon- 13, Phek- 3,” said Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet.
The confirmed cases include 9,488 recovered persons and 1,400 active patients, said Director of Health Department, Dr Denis Hangsing in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
The recovery rate in the State has improved slightly to 85.78% from Wednesday’s 85.13%, he said. It has gone up to 90.93% on November 13.
Demise of two COVID-19 infected patients in Dimapur district increased the death in the state is 65, out of which 56 are due to contagion, 7 had comorbidities while causes of two deaths are yet to be ascertained, he said.
A total of 107 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
The district wise distribution of confirmed cases are Dimapur (6,105), Kohima (3,299), Mon (595), Peren (475), Tuensang (210), Zunheboto (140), Mokokchung (120), Phek (44), Wokha (29), Kiphire (25) and Longleng (18).
Out of the confirmed cases, the segregated data comprises 4,533 armed forces personnel, 4,242 Traced Contacts, 1,765 returnees from other States and 520 frontline workers, he said.
The district wise active cases are Dimapur (718), Kohima (441), Peren (161), Tuensang (40), Mon (33), Phek (4), Zunheboto (1), Mokokchung (1) and Kiphire (1).
Among the active, 67 patients are with mild and moderate symptoms, while 7 are critical in ICU, he said, adding that 1,326 persons are asymptomatic.
The recovered persons are Dimapur (5,280), Kohima (2,823), Mon (551), Peren (314), Tuensang (169), Zunheboto (136), Mokokchung (115), Phek (40), Wokha (28), Kiphire (23) and Longleng (9).
So far, a total of 1,11,551 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland, including 68,346 through RT-PCR, 35,863 on TrueNat and 7,342 on Rapid Antigen Test, said Dr Hangsing. (Page News Service)
