Nagaland Covid tally jumps to 7,698; 1 more death reported

Kohima, October 17: Detection of 94 fresh COVID-19 cases have pushed the caseload in Nagaland to 7,698, state health officials said
“94 positive cases of COVID-19 detected today include Dimapur 55, Kohima 23, Mon 9, Zunheboto 3, and two each in Mokokchung and Peren districts,” tweeted Health Minister, S Pangnyu Phom.
Also, 30 patients have recovered – Dimapur 22 and Kohima 8, he said.
The confirmed cases in the State include 6,076 recovered and 1,529 active patients, said Additional Director of Health Department, Dr Denis Hangsing in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
A female COVID-19 patient died in Kohima during the day increasing the deaths of COVID-19 infected patients in the State to 28, he said.
Another three deaths which were under investigation to find the cause of demise, were confirmed to be COVID-17 related, increasing the COVID-19 deaths to 21, he said.
Six deaths are not related to COVID-19 while one more is under investigation, he said.
Altogether 65 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients which had gone up to 87.82 percent on September 8 has further decreased to 78.92 percent, he said.
The district wise distribution of confirmed cases are Dimapur (41,05), Kohima (2,417), Mon (429), Peren (295), Zunheboto (120), Tuensang (129), Mokokchung (103), Phek (36), Wokha (26), Longleng (16), and Kiphire district (12).
Out of the confirmed cases, the segregated data comprises 3,436 armed personnel, 2,284 Traced Contacts, 1,597 returnees from other States and 381 Frontline Workers, he said.
The district wise active cases are Dimapur (986), Kohima (372), Mokokchung (58), Mon (46), Tuensang (34), Peren (21), Zunheboto (7), Longleng (4), and one in Phek district.
Among the active, 55 are with mild and moderate symptoms while one Koohima is severe and other four – two each in Kohima and Dimapur are on oxygen and ventilator support, he said.
Altogether 1,469 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
The recovered persons are Dimapur (3,058), Kohima (2,034), Mon (373), Peren (274), Zunheboto (120), Tuensang (95), Mokokchung (44), Phek (35), Wokha (26), Kiphire (12) and Longleng (5).
A total of 89,735 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland so far, said Dr Hangsing. (PTI)
