Nagaland COVID-19 tally rises to 5,263


Dimapur, September 16: Nagaland on Wednesday reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total cases in the State to 5,263. But the 3,968 recoveries and 10 deaths, the number of active cases in the State is 1,261.
Of the 34 new cases, 31 were detected in Dimapur, 2 in Mon and one at Kohima.
As per the severity of symptoms, 1,252 active cases are asymptomatic, 7 active cases are mild and 2 active cases are moderate.
Out of the 5,263 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people is Armed Forces/Police – 2,481, Returnees – 1,418, Frontline workers – 320 and Traced Contacts – 1,044.
A total of 45,353 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 44,729 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 25,731 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 25,714 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 1,188 samples have been tested.
A total of 637 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the State. (Page News Service)
