Dimapur, September 2: Nagaland is among the Top-10 States/Union Territories in India recording high COVID-19 recovery rate.
According to data released by the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland is reporting 80% (79.98%) recovery rate as on September 2, which is the 10th highest recovery rate reported among States/UTs in the country.
As on September 2, Nagaland has recorded 3213 recoveries out of a total 4017 COVID-19 cases. With 9 deaths, the number of active cases in the State is 785.
Daman and Diu (D&D) and Dadra and Nagar Haveli (DNH) is recording the highest recovery rate in the country at 88.90% followed closely by Delhi at 88.50%.
State tally rises to 4017
Meanwhile Nagaland on Wednesday reported 14 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total cases in the State to 4017.
Out of the 14 new cases, 7 were detected in Dimapur (Armed Forces – 3, Returnees – 4); 5 in Kohima (Armed Forces – 1, traced contact – 2, frontline workers – 2) and one each in Tuensang (frontline workers – 1) and Mokokchung (Armed Forces – 1).
As per the severity of symptoms, 779 active cases are asymptomatic and 6 active cases are mild. Active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Of the 4,017 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people is 1,708 cases from Armed Forces, returnees – 1,272, frontline workers – 291 and traced contacts – 746.
A total of 1,138 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the State. (Page News Service)
