Nagaland COVID-19 tally rises to 3748

Dimapur, August 27: Nagaland on Thursday reported 32 new cases of COVID-19, including Wednesday’s 26 cases, taking the total cases in the State to 3748. But with 2735 recoveries and 9 deaths, the number of active cases in the State is 1031, officials said today.
A total of 124 recoveries were reported on Thursday (52 in Kohima, 38 in Mon and 34 in Dimapur).
Out of the 32 new cases, 20 were detected in Kohima (Traced Contacts – 15, Armed Forces – 4, Frontline Workers – 1), 8 in Dimapur (Traced Contacts – 5, Returnees/Travelers – 3), 2 in Mokokchung – (Armed Forces – 1, Returnees/travelers – 1) and 2 in Tuensang (Returnees/travelers – 1, Frontline Workers – 1).
As per the severity of symptoms, 1,015 active cases are asymptomatic, 15 active cases are mild and 1 active case is moderate.
Of the 3,784 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are 1,622 (43%) cases of Armed Forces, 1,222 (32%) cases of returnees, 260 (7%) cases of frontline workers and 680 (18%) cases of traced contacts.
A total of 35,979 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 35,371 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 22,483 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat.
A total 1,203 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the State. (Page News Service)
