Nagaland COVID-19 tally rises to 3619

Dimapur, August 21: Nagaland on Friday reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total cases in the State to 3619. But with 2074 recoveries and 8 deaths, the number of active cases in the State is 1530.
Out of the 36 new cases, 17 were detected in Kohima (Traced Contacts – 13, Armed Forces – 3, Returnees/Travelers – 1), 10 in Dimapur (Traced Contacts – 7, Returnees/Travelers – 2, Frontline Workers – 1), 7 in Zunehboto (Traced Contacts – 7) and 2 in Peren (Traced Contacts – 2). Of the new cases detected today, 29 are traced contacts.
As per the severity of symptoms, 1509 active cases are asymptomatic, 20 are mild and one is moderate. The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 care centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Out of the total 3619 positive cases so far, 1570 (43%) are from the Armed Forces; Returnees/Travelers – 1201 (33%), Traced Contacts – 609 (17%), and Frontline Workers – 239 (7%). (Page News Service)
