Nagaland COVID-19 tally rises to 3583

Dimapur, August 20: Nagaland on Thursday reported 25 new COVID-cases taking the State’s tally to 3583. But with 1921 recoveries and 8 deaths, the number of active cases in the State is 1648.
The 25 new cases were detected from testing of 827 samples tested.
Out of the 25 new cases, 15 were detected in Dimapur (Armed Forces – 6, Returnees/Travelers – 5, Traced Contacts – 4), 9 in Kohima (Traced Contacts – 6, Returnees – 3) and one in Mon (Returnees – 1).
As per the severity of symptoms, 1624 active cases are asymptomatic, 22 are mild and 2 are moderate. The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 care centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Out of the total 3583 positive cases so far, 1567 (44%) are from the Armed Forces; Returnees/Travelers – 1198 (33%), Traced Contacts – 580 (16%), and Frontline Workers – 238 (7%).
