Nagaland COVID-19 tally rises to 1566


Dimapur, July 30: Nagaland on Thursday reported 53 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total cases in the State to 1566. But with 4 deaths and 627 recoveries, the total active cases are 935.
Out of the 53 new cases, 48 were tested by RT-PCR and 5 by TrueNat. Of the 48 positive cases through RT-PCR, 32 cases were at Dimapur and 16 at Kohima. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 935 active cases are asymptomatic.
The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 care centres. Active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Till date, a total of 23,703 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 21,507 samples have been received. Out of the 16,513 samples received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), a total of 14,471 samples have been tested and 1,071 samples have tested positive. In addition, a total of 15,895 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat.
A total of 2,502 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the State. (Page News Service)
