Nagaland COVID-19 tally nears 1000 mark


Dimapur, July 19: Nagaland COVID-19 count nears the 1000 mark with 10 new cases detected on Sunday taking the total confirmed cases to 988. But with 445 recoveries so far, the active cases in the State is 543.
Out of the 10 new cases, 6 are from Kohima, 2 in Mokokchung and one each in Dimapur and Longleng.
As per the severity of symptoms, 539 active cases are asymptomatic and 2 active cases are mild and 2 active cases are moderate. All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 care centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Till date, a total of 18,465 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR. Results of 17,517 samples have been received.
Out of the 11,137 samples received, a total of 11,087 samples have been tested at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and out of which 579 samples have tested positive.
In addition, a total of 12 103 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat. 11, 463samples have tested negative, and 365 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
A total of 2,942 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the State.
