Nagaland Covid-19 tally jumps to 8436


Dimapur, October 23: The Covid-19 tally of Nagaland today rose to 8436 with the detection of 140 more positive cases in the state.
According to an official bulleting, out of the 140 positive cases, 16 are in Kohima, 118 in Dimapur, 1 in Tuensang, 1 in Wokha and 2 each in Mokokchung and Zunheboto.
Today, 101 patients also recovered from the virus, which included 52 from Kohima, 46 from Dimapur and 3 from Longleng.
Out of the 8,436 positive cases, the total recoveries so far are 6,500. The active cases are 1,837 and there have been 22 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms 1,754 active cases are asymptomatic, 59 active cases are mild, 17 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 4 active cases are severe on oxygen and 3 active cases are on ventilator.
Dimapur district has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 4,677 followed by Kohima (2,528), Mon (451), Peren (305), Zunheboto (132), Tuensang (142), Mokokchung (107), Phek (36), Wokha (27), Longleng (16), and Kiphire district (15).
Further, out of 8,436 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are: 3,737 cases of Armed Forces/ Police, 1,629 cases of Returnees, 2,671 cases of Traced Contacts and 399 cases of Frontline Workers.
A total of 59,469 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 58,124 samples have been received. In addition, a total 32,410 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 32,359 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test 34,55 samples have been tested.
