Nagaland COVID-19 tally jumps to 451


Dimapur, June 29: Nagaland reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, taking the total confirmed cases in the State to 451. But with 168 recoveries, the total active cases in the State are 283.
Nineteen new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Monday morning, while another 17 fresh positive cases were detected in Tuensang, taking the total new cases on Monday to 36.
Of the 36 new cases, 18 are from Jakhama quarantine centre, 17 from Tuensang quarantine centre and one from Peren.
Principal Home Secretary, Abhijit Sinha, IAS said all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 283 active cases are asymptomatic.
Till date, a total of 11,661 samples have been sent for testing. Out of these 11,661 samples, 7,868 samples have been received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and a total of 7,637 samples have been tested, out of which 360 samples have tested positive.
In addition a total of 4,897 samples have been tested by Truenat, out of which 85 samples tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
A total of 5181 persons are presently under facility quarantine in Nagaland as of today. (Page News Service)
