Nagaland COVID-19 tally crosses 500


Dimapur, July 1: The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Nagaland crossed 500 on Wednesday with the State reporting another 42 new cases today.
The total confirmed positive cases have now climbed to 501, but with 182 recoveries, the active cases in the State remains 319.
In a briefing, State Principal Home Secretary, Abhijit Simha, IAS said all the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 319 active cases are asymptomatic.
Till date, a total of 12,268 samples have been tested. Results of 11,630 have been received. Out of the total of 12, 268 samples, 8,070 samples have been received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and a total of 7,881 samples have been tested, out of which 388 samples have tested positive. In addition a total of 5,669 samples have been tested by Truenat, out of which 110 samples tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
A total of 4408 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the State, Sinha informed.
