Nagaland COVID-19 tally climbs to 5730


Dimapur, September 24: Nagaland on Thursday reported 59 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total cases in the State to 5730. But with 4598 recoveries and 16 deaths, the number of active cases in the State is 1088.
Of the 59 cases, 46 were detected in Dimapur, 8 in Kohima, 4 in Zunheboto and one in Mon.
As per the severity of symptoms, 1075 active cases are asymptomatic, 10 active cases are mild, 2 active cases are severe and 1 active case is on ventilator.
Out of the 5730 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people is: Armed Forces/ Police – 2716, Returnees – 1462, Traced Contacts – 1216 and Frontline Workers – 336.
A total of 48,336 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 47,449 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 27,214 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 27,146 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 1,477 samples have been tested.
A total 526 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the State. (Page News Service)
