Nagaland COVID-19 tally climbs to 5306


Dimapur, September 17: Nagaland reported 43 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday taking the total cases in the State to 5,306. But with 4,079 recoveries and 10 deaths, the number of active cases in the State is 1,193.
Of the 43 new cases, 18 were detected in Kohima, 24 in Dimapur and one in Mon.
As per the severity of symptoms, 1,163 active cases are asymptomatic, 27 active cases are mild and 3 active cases are moderate.
Out of the 5,306 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people is: Armed Forces/Police – 2,484, Returnees – 1,421, Traced Contacts – 1079 and Frontline workers – 322.
A total of 45,626 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 44,997 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 25,888 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and results of 25,881 samples have been received. Through Rapid Antigen Test, 1,199 samples have been tested.
A total 588 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the State. (Page News Service)
