Nagaland COVID-19 tally climbs to 3118

Dimapur, August 12: Nagaland on Wednesday reported 87 new cases of COVID-19 taking the State’s tally to 3118. But with 8 deaths and 1113 recoveries, the number of active cases in the State is 1991.
The 87 new cases were detected from testing of 614 samples.
tally aug 12Out of the 87 new cases, 48 were detected in Dimapur (Armed Forces – 17, Returnees – 17, Traced Contacts – 12, Frontline workers – 2); 35 in Kohima (Armed Forces – 22, Returnees – 1, Traced Contacts – 11, Frontline workers – 1); Zunheboto – 3 (Armed Forces – 3) and Wokha – 1 (Returnees – 1).
Of the 3118 positive cases detected in the State so far, 1427 (45.8%) are from the Armed Forces; 1115 (35.9%) are returnees, 319 (10.2%) are traced contacts, 203 (6.5%) are frontline workers and 51 (1.7%) others, which include cases related to NLA, Raj Bhavan, patients excluding returnees.
As per the severity of symptoms, 1987 active cases are asymptomatic, 2 are mild and 2 active cases are moderate. The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection. (Page News Service)
