Nagaland COVID-19 positive case added to Assam’s tally

Dimapur, April 16: On paper at least Nagaland has no COVID-19 positive case. This is because the positive case from Nagaland has been added to the tally of Assam State as sampling was done in Assam. The patient is admitted in Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).
“The positive case of Nagaland has been added to the tally of Assam State as sampling was done in Assam,” informed the State Health & Family Welfare Department in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
With regard to the COVID-19 positive patient from Dimapur detected in Guwahati; the department informed that as of 6 pm in Thursday, a total of 140 samples of persons connected to the patient, which includes co-passengers, health care workers and family members, have been collected and sent for testing. Out of this, results of 100 samples have been received and they are all are negative. The results of 40 samples are awaited.
In total so far, altogether 226 samples have been sent for testing from the State including 41 samples which have been sent today. Results of 184 samples have been received and all are negative, 2 samples will be sent for retest and results of 40 samples are awaited.
As of today, 200 people are at facility quarantine and 5725 are in home quarantine. (Page News Service)
