Nagaland COVID-19 cases breach 1500 mark

Dimapur, July 29: Nagaland on Wednesday breached the 1500 COVID-19 positive mark with the detected on 53 new cases. The total confirmed cases in the State stands at 1513. However, with 4 deaths and 595 recoveries, the total active cases in the State are 913.
Out of the 53 new cases, 29 were detected at Dimapur, 19 at Kohima and 5 at Mon. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 913 active cases are asymptomatic, and they are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals and COVID-19 care centres. Active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Till date, a total of 22,766 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 21,009 samples have been received. Out of the 15,990 samples received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), a total of 14,024 samples have been tested and 1,030 samples have tested positive. In addition, a total of 15,580 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and 535 samples have tested positive, which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
A total of 2,451 persons are presently under facility quarantine in Nagaland. (Page News Service)
