
Dimapur, April 23: The third test of the COVID-19 positive patient from Dimaur returned positive again after he was tested negative in the second test. He will now undergo a fourth test in a few days time.
“We are in receipt of a report from the Superintendent, GMCH that the patient was initially tested positive for Covid19 upon admission to GMCH. The subsequent second test on April 17 was negative and the third time on April 18 he was tested positive again. The next test on the patient will be conducted on April 26,” said Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Kesonyu Yhome in a press briefing today.
Presently the patient is stable and has been shifted from the ICU to the isolation ward for further observation.
Yhome admitted that the COVID19 crisis has brought to light gaps in the healthcare delivery systems in the State to meet such an eventuality including infrastructural and human resource constraints, adding that the State Government and the Department is making all efforts to address the various challenges and to ensure the safety of the citizens with the strong support from all sections of the society.
