Dimapur, May 18: Churches in Nagaland have “expressed willingness” to provide assistance as support staff and services in the management of COVID-19 Care Centres.
An update from the Government on Tuesday informed that this was one of the topics of discussion during a video conference Chief Secretary J Alam had held with senior officers, State COVID-19 War Room members and representatives of church bodies viz., Nagaland Baptist Church Council, Diocese of Kohima, Catholic Church, Nagaland Christian Revivial Church and Pentecostal Church.
Other discussions were on education and awareness on COVID-19 and health-appropriate behaviour; and training and dissemination of COVID-appropriate information.
“The Church leaders expressed willingness to come forward wholeheartedly to work with government agencies to fight the pandemic together,” the update stated.
