Kohima, June 19: Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in Nagaland, the State government has asked the Health and Family Welfare Department to come out with a comprehensive list of the entire problems within the department.
Minister for Planning & Coordination, Parliamentary Affairs and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu, who is also government spokesperson on COVID-19, said that the State Cabinet held a meeting today in the office of the Chief Minister at New Secretariat here.
The Cabinet thoroughly deliberated on the problems faced by the medical department, including the demands of National Health Mission Employees Association Nagaland (NEAN) and the Joint Inquiry Commission report on the Tuensang fiasco, he said.
He said that the Cabinet has directed the medical department to come out with a comprehensive list of its different problems so that the government would thoroughly discuss and bring about solutions.
The department should bring the whole problems together instead of one after another so that appropriate measures can be brought about, said Kronu.
On the JIC report which has been submitted to the Cabinet, Kronu said no final decision has been taken but as government spokesperson, he said it is more humane to forgive one another as the mistakes in both Tuensang and Peren cases were not intentional but a mistake as human.
In this, he said that in the present situation of COVID-19 pandemic agitations by civil societies will not send good message but it is more important is to concentrate on how to go forward in taking care of our people.
He, therefore, appealed to the Eastern Nagaland Public Organisation and JAC on COVID-19 Peren and Zeliang bodies to forgive the officials for the unintentional mistake committed. (Page News Service)
