Nagaland bowled out for 214: Cooch Behar Trophy


Dimapur, January 18: Nagaland batsmen faltered again to be bowled out for 214 in the Cooch Behar Trophy (2019-20) against Manipur at James Long Stadium, Kolkata but the bowlers brought the team into the match dismissing 4 Manipur batsmen to take a 176 lead at stumps on Day-1. Manipur were 38/4 at the end of the day’s play in the 4-day match.
Put in to bat after losing the toss, none of the Nagaland players stayed long at the crease to build a partnership and were bowled out for 214 in 72.5 overs, with Afzal top scoring with 54. For Manipur, Rishi claimed 4 wickets while Jotin, John and Bidash took 2 wickets each.
Coming out to bat, Nagaland bowler Arjun made sure Nagaland went to stumps on top taking 3 Manipur wickets and Imtizungted 1 wicket. For Manipur, Jotin scored 19 runs.
State Ranji tie with Bihar from today
Meanwhile the Ranji Trophy match between Nagaland and Bihar will be played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima from January 19 to 22. The match will start at 8:45 am daily. The NCA has requested all cricket lovers to come and witness the match.
The Nagaland team led by Jonathan Rongsen includes Hokaito Zhimomi, Imliwati Lemtur, Sedezalie Rupreo, Nagaho Chishi, Tahmeed Rahman, Temjen Toshi (wk), Moakumzak Tsudir, Toni Chishi, Bohoto Yeptho, Hopongkyu Sangtam and Imomemba.
