Nagaland bowled for 89 by Sikkim on Day-1

Dimapur, October 31: Nagaland were trailing by 47 runs after being bowled out for 89 by Sikkim on the 1st day of at the ongoing Vijay Merchant Trophy 2019-20 today. Sikkim were 136/5 at the end of the day’s play.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, none of the Nagaland player managed to stay long at the crease to anchor a decent score and were bowled out cheaply. Sravan top scored with 33 runs.
For Sikkim, MD Sharim scalped 3 wickets and Obedonyx and Tusya shared 2 wickets each.
Coming in to bat, Sikkim players also squandered their wickets but also kept the scoreboard ticking steadily to end the day’s play with the upper hand at 136/5 in 62 overs. Senge top scored with 66 runs, and he was ably supported by Md Arif with 30 runs.
For Nagaland Rohan took 4 wickets.
State boys lose to Meghalaya
In the Vinoo Mankad Men’s U-23 one day trophy 2019-20, Nagaland lost narrowly by 4 runs to Meghalaya today.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, Meghalaya made a competitive 228/6 in the allotted 50 overs, with Raghav scoring a century. Yogesh and Anish scored 35 runs each.
For Nagaland Liremo and Vaibhav took 2 wickets apiece.
Chasing the manageable target, Nagaland were bowled out for 224. Nikhil scored 66 runs, Puchu – 44 runs and Vivek – 29 runs for Nagaland.
