
DIMAPUR, JUNE 15: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Nagaland has taken up the task of creating awareness about the ‘Agnipath’ scheme, which was announced by the NDA Government on Tuesday.
Speaking to media persons at Dimapur BJP Office, BJYM President, Hosheto Awomi said that Agnipath has been designed to enable youthful profits of the Armed Forces, adding it would provide an opportunity to the youth who may be keen to don the uniform by attracting young talent from the society who are no more in tune with contemporary technological trends and plough back skilled, disciplined and motivated manpower into the society.
Stating that the schemes shows the Government’s emphasis on job creation for youth and focus on efficient management of workload, Hosheto explained the key features of the scheme. According to him, the benefits of the scheme for Armed Forces would be improved battle preparedness and endeavour to harness benefits of skill India.
Youth selected under this scheme would be known as Agniveers. The Government is planning to recruit 46,000 Agniveers this year. Youths from 17 to 21 years of age are eligible for this scheme.
Arvind Damani, BJYM NEC Member and In-charge, BJYM Meghalaya, said that the Agnipath scheme will be a game changer and a revolutionary idea of 21st century defence sector, where jobs will be provided to youth to serve the nation.
