Nagaland bans import of pigs

Dimapur, April 29: Following the advisory issued by the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying to all the North-Eastern States for strict bio-security and bio-safety measures including restrictions on movement of pigs, the Government of Nagaland has banned import of pigs from outside the State in view of the reported outbreak of “African Swine Fever” disease in the neighbouring states with immediate effect.
