Naga wrestlers leave for Kyrgyzstan

Kohima, May 17: A 9-member team, including four wrestlers from Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) today left for Osh in Kyrgyzstan to compete in the United World Wrestling Asian Belt Wrestling and Kazakh Kuresi Championship 2022.
The competition is scheduled from May 21 to 23 while the wrestlers are Venuzo Dawhuo, Keduovilie Zumu, Mhasilhusie Nagi and Nlumrai Hegwang. NWA president Dr Hiabe Zeliang and general secretary Vilekho Bio will be the team coaches and Treasurer Vezuhu Keyho as team manager.
The wrestlers are jointly sponsored by the Government of Nagaland and NWA.
They will be part of the Indian contingent for the championship.
Meanwhile, NWA advisor Neivikuolie Nicholas Khatsu and Khrievotuo Sekhose are also going together to attend the Belt wrestling referee clinic and training scheduled for May 20 and 21 at the same venue. The duo is sponsored by Nagaland Olympic Association.
Senior Pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima Rev Dr Kevekhalo Lasuh while exhorting them said that in Nagaland wrestlers are admired by young and old but they should be humble. He also encouraged them to always keep praying and remember God. (Page News Service)
