Naga political razzmatazz reaches Patna

Kohima, April 6: Political razzmatazz continues in the state but people are unimpressed by such hullabaloo by the political parties and their newly elected representatives.
What people want from the new Government is get down to business and deliver goods to the people rather than merry go round, with lavish spending on feast and merrymaking.
This kind of political razzmatazz ambiance is intended for the razzle-dazzle of their people and with sole purpose to enhance their public image.
Since January last there have been political razzamatazz and feasts throughout the State and still continue by political parties and newly elected lawmakers, spending unaccounted money for unproductive events.
Since January there has been political razzmatazz and feasts throughout the State and elections are over but this merrymaking and political feasts still continues.
Candidates and political parties ventured into the fray seeking the Divine intervention, now the elections are over they are organising Thanksgiving programmes throughout the State before they get down to government business.
Government departments are also hectic organising felicitation programme for Ministers, Advisors and Chairmen of Public Sector Undertakings. Even Churches are organising a blessing service for the elected Members expecting in return.
Post elections Nagaland Newspapers are flooded with, In-gratitude and Felicitations as if it is a compulsory to do so. Felicitations of newly elected Members, finds place in local Newspapers almost everyday.
While Naga People’s People’s Front (NPF) has even organised a special programme for the loser candidates at its party Central Office recently the upbeat Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) is organising a Thanksgiving programme where Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio along with his Ministers and Advisors will attend.
The People’s Progressive Alliance (PDA), a conglomeration of NDPP, BJP, JD(U), NPP and an Independent will also organise a felicitation programme at Kohima.
The Janata Dal (United), which has a lone Member in the Assembly, will have a felicitation programme at Patna, Bihar. The party led by State Unit President Senchemo Lotha and Minister for Agriculture, G. Kaito Ayeh along with host of State party leaders will leave for Patna tomorrow where the felicitation programme will be held in the presence of JD(U) Supremo and Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar..
But only time will tell whether such political razzmatazz will befit Government’s performance and that people’s hopes are not shattered this time again.
So far no brickbat from the people, except the NPF, which is now in the Opposition bench. (Page News Service)
