Govt allow employees to attend event
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 9: The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) has appealed to all citizens to participate in the historic first Naga Day to be held at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground) on Wednesday. In an appeal, the FNR stated that the decision to organize Naga Day was taken only after consulting with Naga apex organizations.The first meeting to this effect was held on September 7, 2017, with 19 Kohima based tribe unions; the second meeting was held on October 13, 2017, with 35 apex Naga organizations in Chumoükedima and the third meeting was held on November 27, 2017, with 29 apex Naga organizations also in Chumoükedima.
The FNR also announced that the Nagaland State Government has assured to allow all interested State Government officials to attend the Naga Day. Meanwhile FNR informed that its members alongside myriad of performers were at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground) on January 9 practicing for the Naga Day on January 10. As temperatures dropped, the organizers said they were on the ground, hooded and gloved, in preparation to receive thousands of participants expected on Wednesday. (Page News Service)
