Bangkok, March 7: India’s Muskan Kirar and Promila Daimary clinched gold medals in the women’s compound and recurve events respectively at the Archery Asia Cup in Bangkok on Wednesday.
Kirar got the better of Malaysia’s Zakaria Nadhirah 139-136 in the compound final while Daimary upset Russia’s Erdynieva Natalia 7-3 in the summit clash of recurve event.
Madhu Vedwan and Gaurav Trambak Lambe also added to India’s tally by winning bronze medals in the women’s and the men’s recurve events. Vedwan beat Mongolia’s Altangerel Enkhtuya 6-5 while Lambe emerged victorious against Malaysia’s Kamaruddin Haziq.
Among the other Indians, Yashwi Upadhyay, second seed Divya Dhayal, and Hiwrale Mrinal Anil bowed out at the quarter-final stage. (TNN)
