Mushroom cultivation conducted at Kiruphema

Kohima, February 7: A training program on mushroom cultivation was conducted under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP) from Kiruphema at Peducha on 5th February 2022 organised by krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in collaboration with Kenei Kro-o Kiruphema (KKK).
Senior Scientist & Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kohima, Dr.Ruokuovilie Mezhatsu delivering the keynote address said that mushroom cultivation is one of the shortest, low cost and fastest viable income generating among the horticulture entrepreneurship as the farmer can start harvesting within a short time.
Mezhatsu also said that the training on mushroom cultivation will not only help to generate immediate income but uplift the economic sustainability to the farmers and urged all the participants to make the best use of what they have learned from the training and start generating income to become self-reliant.
While in technical session, the hand-on training on cultivation of Oyster Mushroom through Paddy Straw was conducted by master trainer Mrs.Khekali Sema, Assistant Chief Technical Officer (Horticulture) Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kohima
Trainees were introduced with medicinal, nutritional and its economic benefits on how one can sustain for its livelihood.
Erlier, the program was conducted by president KKK, Neilhoulie Vielie, invocation by Neiviko-ü Suohumvü and welcome address was delivered by Makolie Suosahie.
