MTLT demands uninterrupted power supply in Mokokchung town

Dimapur, June 12: The Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) has urged Executive Engineer, Electrical Transmission, Mokokchung for uninterrupted power supply in Mokokchung town.
In a representation, MTLT president, Imkummeren Jamir, general secretary, Lanu Pongen and convenor, grievances cell, Aolong Imchen stated that citizens of Mokokchung town is facing immense hardships due to the frequent load shedding during the past few months.
While appreciating the Power Department for taking great initiative in replacing the low-tension wires with high-tension electric lines in the town, the MTLT said it had also tolerated the frequent power-cuts which were, as the department, necessitated because of the developmental works.
However, it said the people of Mokokchung town are still facing irregular power-cuts till today which have been greatly hampering the daily lives and activities of the common people.
The MTLT felt that this regular power supply is an essential necessity of the people.
Stating that the people of Mokokchung town have been diligently paying the power bills every month without fail, the MTLT said supply of uninterrupted power is not only a duty for the power department but also a legitimate demand of the people.
In this regard, the MTLT urged the Executive Engineer to take immediate remedial actions and supply uninterrupted power supply in Mokokchung town. (Page News Service)
