Mokokchung, July 28: The Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) has condemned the assault of a woman by her husband on the night of June 16 at Dilong Ward in Mokokchung town.
The way the helpless woman was treated by her husband, one Tiatemsu of Ungma village who tortured and struck his wife with firewood and other blunt objects is beyond human comprehension, the MTLT said adding such sadistic acts and sadists do not deserve to roam free in a civilized society.
Stating that the MTLT does not condone any act of domestic violence, it condemned the brutal act of. Tiatemsu in the strongest term.
Meanwhile, it appreciated the Mokokchung Police for taking prompt action in arresting and booking the culprit under relevant sections of the law.
It also hoped that the law would take its own course of action and the culprit be punished in the sternest manner so that such brutal acts of domestic violence do not recur in the society.
The MTLT further expressed sympathy with the victim and wished her a speedy recovery. (Page News Service)
