Dimapur, December 4: Nagaland has recorded 98% Measles and Rubella vaccination coverage during the 58 days of Measles and Rubella Vaccination Campaign undertaken in the State from October 3 to November 29.
After the conclusion of the campaign, a State Task Force meeting on immunization was held on November 30, which was attended by senior officials of allied departments, medical department and partner organisations (UNDP, WHO, UNICEF). The meeting reviewed the campaign activities and performance of all 11 districts.
Meanwhile the Health & Family Welfare Department has acknowledged the Chief Minister, Minister of H&FW, administration, School Education, Social Welfare, Power, Police and Paramilitary for their support and cooperation throughout the campaign. It also thanked all health workers at the grassroot levels (especially ANMs, vaccinators, ASHAs and Anganwadi workers) and all schools, village councils, wards/colonies, religious organisations, NGOs and responsible parents who had contributed towards the successful completion of MRVC in the State.
With the campaign successfully concluded, the Department said it will continue to monitor new Measles and Rubella cases through active surveillance and further strengthen routine immunization activities in the State with the experiences gained during the campaign. (Page News Service)
